chetteri dam-solo ride

Dear readers this is my first blog, and I am not well versed in publishing the article if there are any mistakes my sincere apologies. As I am a travel lover I am searching for a destination with less crowded around Krishnagiri which is my hometown. I choose Chetteri dam. which is very close to me about 31 km.

The reason behind how I came to know Chetteri dam is when I am surfing in the web an article in the Hindu "CPI demands release of 20 tmc of Cauvery water into Palar every year"
got stuck on my mind.
It was the Pallar river issue. the Chetteri dam is constructed to recharge the groundwater level of the Vellore district by getting water from the KRP dam through gravity transporting the water to Pallar river through Chetteri dam. But the proposed project didn't take off due to varied reason.
Hence I made my mind to discover the destination. I woke up early in the Sunday morning and ride my bike in NH7 towards Vellore. As the season was winter,  fog cherished my fingers on the ride. I didn't stop anywhere in between. After reaching Velakanatham and enquired about the dam.  I got the correct route to reach the dam.
But unfortunately, I didn't find a single drop of water. The dam is surrounded by green hills
A railway track is passing alongside dam. The total capacity of the dam is 22ft.

hence I made my mind free and relaxed for some time and get back home quickly. at last the ride was completed with lot of disappointments. The next day when I made my mind to write the blog. I can't produce any vocabulary to narrate my first post in blogging as nothing interesting to say had happened in the ride. somehow I managed to bring my first post in blogging.

Kalimala Peak; Aerial framing of Chittar dam in between the clouds.

Travellers : Edwin (me), Sunil (brother) Target destination: Kalimala Peak Mode:  Biking Time duration:  One day. Trip Date: 04.12.2018 Route: Karungal – Palliyadi –Eraviputhoorkadai- Athur – Thiruvattur- Tiruparapu – Kadayalumoodu- Pathukani- Kalimala peak. Some of the memories could have everlasting when you recollect those. one of the things that make me heartwarming feel about the Kalimala peak trip, when your companion(my brother) of the trip underestimate the destination and doesn’t have even 50% of interest and he came on full compulsion but at the end, he also enjoys and had a bashed full of memories to remember. This might be a second fortune in my winter vacation of 2018 to explore the lesser known peak in the Kanyakumari district. The first fortune could be also in this winter vacation, exploring the lesser known beaches, estuaries on the way to Vattakottai fort.   Read- Vattakottai Fort - West coast treasure; chapter 01.
